Anti-angiogenic activity of Physalis minima (Solanaceae) methanol leaf extract on the chorioallantoic membrane of duck embryos: Evidence for tumor vasculature inhibition

Abstract

Tumor-associated angiogenesis is a validated hallmark of cancer progression. This study investigated the anti-angiogenic activity of graded concentrations of Physalis minima methanol leaf extract using the chorioallantoic membrane assay on duck embryos. Results demonstrated a significant, concentration-dependent reduction in secondary branch-point formation. The findings support further pharmacological investigation of P. minima as a source of natural anti-angiogenic compounds.
